The 2007 Whitley Awards Ceremony was held on 10th May at the The Royal Geographical Society in London. We had a turnout of more than 350 people and would like to thank all of our Friends and supporters who came to the Ceremony and made it a great evening enjoyed by all. Sir David Attenborough kindly hosted the Ceremony. In total ten awards, plus the Whitley Gold Award, were presented by WFN Patron, HRH The Princess Royal. Attendees met the Finalists, heard the Award Winners speak on stage, and viewed footage of their work. For some of these national champions, the Whitley Awards will have been their first foray into the international conservation arena. We do all that we can to ensure it is the start of a new chapter in their blossoming careers by working with winners to raise their profile at and following the Awards Ceremony and providing ongoing support.
